2024 - New Playground Equipment

New playground equipment was purchased through a matching grant received from the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority and Patronicity through their CreatINg Places initiative. The park board applied for the grant with the purpose of providing equipment that included inclusive pieces and was unique to our area. In late summer 2023, the call went out for donations. $50,000 was required to be raised in order to qualify for the matching grant. Over $50,000 in donations was received through the generous giving of community members and area businesses!  All gifts, no matter the amount, were greatly appreciated. The new equipment was purchased in December 2023 and installed in early spring 2024.  A special ceremony to dedicate the new equipment was held on April 13. This endeavor was a true testiment to the impact small communities can have coming together to make large impacts for a common purpose.
