Burlington Volunteer Fire Dept.

                  BVFD"Neighbors Helping Neighbors"

The Burlington Volunteer Fire Department
serves Burlington Township
and parts of Carrollton Township in Carroll County. The Department also serves a large portion of Ervin and Monroe Townships in Howard County.

The Department
is funded through the Burlington Township Trustee and through contracts with other townships served.

ANNUAL FUNDRAISERS

Each year, fundraisers are held to support the fire department.  Monies raised are used to help replace outdated fire and rescue equipment and to assist with the purchase of new specialty fire equipment to help expand the department's capabilities.

The Annual Pancake & Sausage Breakfast is held on the 2nd Saturday of April.  A fundraising raffle is also held each year with tickets available from BVFD Fireman beginning in June of each year with the drawing held during the Burlington Fall Festival on Saturday evening.  The Burlington Fall Festival is held in September each year.

JUNIOR VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

Volunteer firefighters make up just over 70% of the more than one million firefighters in the United States. Volunteer Fire Departments are always interested in obtaining new volunteers. With that in mind Burlington Fire has expanded our junior fireman program to include members as young as 13 years of age. The training and experiences we provide also serve as a positive influence for our younger generation and have helped many of our members go on to professional careers in the public safety field.

If you know someone who would like to learn more about the fire service and the rewards of serving our community please stop in and see us. Members are on station most every Monday evening with our regularly scheduled meeting on the 2nd Monday of each month.

Current and past Burlington Fire Truck pictures can be best viewed here, or feel free to contact us or stop by and ask for a tour. Children (as well as us big kids) love getting to view the fire trucks up close and personal.
